Kaya Genç is a European Press Prize finalist, Istanbul-based journalist, and author of four books, including The Lion and the Nightingale and Under the Shadow. His work, recognized for blending literary and investigative journalism, has appeared in leading publications such as The New York Times, The New Yorker, Foreign Affairs, and The Los Angeles Review of Books, where he also serves as Istanbul correspondent. A contributor to major international festivals and lectures at universities worldwide, Genç’s reporting explores Turkish society, politics, and culture with a humanistic lens. He holds an MA in English Literature from Universiteit van Amsterdam and a Ph.D. from Istanbul University.
