Bilal Tanweer

Bilal Tanweer is an acclaimed writer, translator, and founder of the LUMS Young Writers Workshop. His debut novel The Scatter Here Is Too Great was published across five territories, translated into French and German, and won the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize. It was also a finalist for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature and the Chautauqua Prize. His translation of Muhammad Khalid Akhtar’s Love in Chakiwara and Other Misadventures received the American PEN Translation Fund Grant. Through the Young Writers Workshop, he has mentored a generation of emerging Pakistani writers, many of whom have achieved international recognition. A recipient of distinguished fellowships and former Chair of Jury for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize, Tanweer continues to broaden the reach of South Asian literature through his writing, translations, and editorial work.
