Dr. Rabia Kamal is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences (MGSHSS). She earned her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and previously taught at the University of San Francisco. Her research focuses on cultural and visual anthropology, digital technologies and surveillance, and the intersections of racialization and gender politics in South Asia and the United States. She teaches courses on social media anthropology, decolonizing feminism, and qualitative research methods, and is currently conducting a multi-sited ethnography exploring social media and social justice in urban Pakistan.
