Nyal Mueenuddin is a Pakistani-American filmmaker and photographer specializing in environmental and human rights documentaries. He holds a Master’s degree in Wildlife Filmmaking from the University of the West of England, Bristol. His award-winning documentary, When the Floods Come, which chronicles the 2022 floods along the Indus River, earned him the 2024 BAFTA Student Award in the Documentary category. Mueenuddin has collaborated with organizations such as WWF-Pakistan, the BBC Natural History Unit, and National Geographic, focusing on issues like climate change, wildlife conservation, and social justice. He is currently based in Islamabad, where he is establishing a documentary production company dedicated to telling impactful stories from South Asia.
