Saira Ansari

Writer, Editor, Researcher

Saira Ansari is an independent writer, researcher, and editor whose work explores art practice and criticism, feminist histories, gardens, grief, science fiction, and South Asia’s real and imagined peripheries. She has collaborated on major publications, including Bani Abidi: The Artist Who (Hatje Cantz, 2022) and Khalil Rabah: Falling Forward / Works [1995–2025] (Sharjah Art Foundation, 2022), and currently consults on publications and research for the Misk Art Institute in Riyadh. Ansari’s essays have appeared in leading art journals and catalogues worldwide, while her curatorial projects in Hong Kong, London, and Dubai reflect her commitment to diverse cultural dialogues. Her ongoing research on Pakistani modernist Zubeida Agha, including the Zubeida Agha Archive at Asia Art Archive, underscores her role in preserving and rethinking South Asian art histories.
